When you’re looking for a financial coach, you want to know that the person you’re hiring is knowledgeable and can teach you how to manage your money long-term, rather than provide a few simple solutions that only work right now or, worse, that you don’t understand the reasoning behind.
Why Am I Qualified To Be Your Financial Coach?
Experience? I have that, too. I worked in the corporate world as an accountant for fifteen years, representing major companies such as Ernst&Young, ADP, Fidelity, Scientific Atlanta, and Electrolux. Additionally, I have been financially responsible – saving, investing, budgeting – my entire life, even when my sister called me boring (and tried to steal my savings as a child).
Teaching? Of course. For over a decade, I have been an Accounting professor at Bucknell University and even helped start the personal finance course, helping students learn to manage their money when they graduate.

Passion For Teaching
In fact, it was that personal finance course that really drew my attention to just how many people need some help, whether they face a pile of debt, a large savings goal, an underfunded retirement plan, or are just concerned with better managing their money to eliminate financial stress. I began my blog Prof. Stacy, The Money Teacher with the idea that I could make personal finance education available freely to everyone, but quickly, I was asked questions that involved more nuance.
